What the Michelin inspectors said…
A stone’s throw from the White House, this plush brasserie cuts an opulent figure. From the Carrara marble floors and tufted leather walls to that double-spouted absinthe fountain, no expense was spared while designing the space. Yet, the ultra-professional is welcoming and will make you feel right at home. Back in the kitchen, a new team is taking a crack at the elevated fare that originally put them on the map − and the dishes are stronger than ever. Sip a cocktail or glass of wine from the well-chosen list before diving into perfectly grilled Pacific abalone, floating in a fragrant green curry with myoga foam. Tangles of house-made tagliatelle are then laced with parmesan cream, toasted hazelnuts, and shaved black truffles for a delicious finale.
We want to try…
The braised beef chasseur with balsamic cherries, king oyster mushroom, bacon lardons ($27).
