  • 4 thick slices of white bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 30 ml sugar
  • 45 ml milk
  • 50 ml apple juice
  • salt to taste
  • 30 to 45 ml of butter
  • 500 g, fresh mixed berries
  • 20 ml maple syrup


1Halve the slices of bread.

2Mix together the egg, egg white, 15 ml sugar, milk, 50 ml apple juice and a pinch of salt.

3Dip the bread slices in this mixture, turning to coat both sides.

4Heat some butter in a frying pan and fry the soaked bread slices on both sides until golden brown.

5Serve the French toast with fresh berries and maple syrup.
