Michelin recognises individuals in restaurants across France
As well as the famous galaxy of stars given out to the very finest of restaurants, the Michelin Guide awards special mentions to workers across the catering industry in France.
The Michelin Service Award 2024 went to Sandrine Deley Favario, manager of L’Auberge de Montmin in Talloires-Montmin (Haute-Savoie), and to Serge Schaal, manager of La Fourchette des Ducs in Obernai (Bas-Rhin). So if excellent service is high on your list of musts when dining out, treat yourself to a superlative experience at one of these eateries next time you’re in France.
The Michelin Sommellerie Award 2024 was awarded to Xavier Thuizat, manager and head sommelier at L’Écrin at the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris, and to Magali Delalex, head sommelier at La Table de l’Ours in the Alpine ski resort of Val-d’Isère (Savoie).
The Michelin Young Chef Award went to Théo Fernandez, head chef at l’Auberge de la Forge in Lavalette (Haute-Garonne). Michelin inspectors commended the chef, who is in his early 30s, for his unique style which reflects the local region.
And last but not least, Yannick Alléno picked up the Michelin Mentor Chef Award and was described by Michelin as “a genuine stalwart of modern French gastronomy and an unparalleled creator, particularly committed to transmitting his expertise”.
