In the hills to the north of Cannes lies the beautiful town of Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. And in a disused perfume factory, a new kind of magic is happening. The small but expert team at Comte de Grasse have created Gin 44°N, a heady tribute to the flowers of Grasse, the ozone-drenched Mediterranean coastline, the glorious sunshine and the herb-scented scrubland.
Aromatician and flavoroligist Marie-Anne Contamin takes us on a virtual tour of the distillery and explains the choice of botanicals, the distillation process and the best way to enjoy this fantastic gin. She is joined by Emile Ward, founder of Spirits Kiosk and winner of the Icons of Gin Buyer of the Year award in 2021, and Charlie Pountney, marketing director at bbb drinks and one of only a handful of certified beer sommeliers in the UK.
