Use spicy harissa with indulgent cream cheese and ready rolled puff pastry to make these savoury twists.
- 1 carton Paysan Breton Cream Cheese
- 1tbsp harissa, we like Belazu
- 1 packet 320g ready rolled puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten
1Preheat the oven to 200⁰c.
2Put the cream cheese, preferably at room temperature and the harissa in a bowl and mix to combine.
3Unroll the pastry onto a floured surface and cut it in half.
4Spread the cream cheese mixture on top of one half of pastry and lay the other half on top.
5Slice into strips and twist each strip, placing each one on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment. Leave a space between each strip as they will puff up in the oven.
6Coat the pastry with the beaten egg. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Good question Kemp! The beaten egg is used as an egg wash before baking the pastry. It adds shine and colour and helps to seal up the edges, 🙂
