  1. About six years ago I picked up a huge, brand new, unused Staub cooking pot in a charity shop in Surrey for the princely sum of five of our English pounds. It’s vendors regarded it as a ‘big, heavy thing’ that most people wouldn’t be interested in purchasing, let alone heaving onto a ceramic hob.

Since that day it has become much loved and, when family and friends descend all at once on my maisonette, pleasingly useful as a receptacle for large amounts of soup, stews, biryanis, tagines, pot roasted birds, lamb Mechoui and super size Charles Fontayne stylee fish pies to feed the five thousand but what it’s rugged, yet beautiful matt black ‘..with brass knobs on’,well built and solid hunky masculine form needs sitting next to it either in the oven or on the hob, is a cutesy sexy cheeky looking coquettish little honey darling white truffle skinned cocotte, perky, gleaming and hot to trot,so they can cook up a sumptuous storm of flirtatious fabulous flavours between them.

    • Ooh, the thought of one of these waiting for you, full of a hearty stew or French onion soup is just so inviting, isn’t it?
