Where to find the best baguette in Paris this summer
In a city where bread is as much a symbol of pride as it is a daily staple, winning the title of best baguette in Paris is no small feat. This year, that honour goes to Mickaël Reydellet, whose bakery La Parisienne, on the Rue du Faubourg-Poissonnière in the 10th arrondissement, has once again won the coveted Grand Prix de la Baguette de Tradition Française.
This marks Reydellet’s second win – he first earned the title in 2016 – and cements his reputation as one of the capital’s finest artisans.
The competition, now in its 30th year, is organised annually by the City of Paris and the Greater Paris Bakers’ Syndicate. It is open to all professional bakers within the city and entrants must comply with strict requirements: their baguettes must measure between 50 and 55 cm, weigh between 250 g and 270 g and meet traditional standards in taste, texture and appearance. In 2025, 187 baguettes were submitted for judging, each of them anonymously assessed by a panel of professionals and connoisseurs.
Reydellet’s winning loaf – crisp, golden, with just the right balance of crunch and elasticity – earned him not only a €4,000 prize, but also the honour of supplying baguettes to the Elysée Palace for one year. The Presidential household will now dine daily on the same crusty perfection available to anyone stepping into La Parisienne’s welcoming storefront in the 10th arrondissement.
The official award ceremony will take place on May 7, during the city’s annual Fête du Pain, a celebration of French baking held in the shadow of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
For those wishing to experience Paris’s finest baguette firsthand, La Parisienne is open daily and welcomes locals and visitors alike.
