Michelin-starred Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa welcomes back guests after lockdown

What better way to celebrate the easing of lockdown than with a glass of champagne? And where better to do so than amongst the vine-striped hills of Épernay in the world-famous Champagne wine-growing region?

Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa, just 20 minutes from Reims in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Champagne wine region, has just reopened to visitors – and to mark the occasion it is offering a special package.

The award-winning boutique retreat is inviting guests throughout the summer to indulge their five senses with a welcome bottle of Champagne on arrival; daily breakfast at Le Bellevue Restaurant; lunch or dinner on the terrace looking out onto the expanse of the vineyards; a two-hour massage; and a private cellar tour and tasting for two at a local Champagne house.

The hotel’s general manager Vincent Parinaud said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome guests back to Royal Champagne; back to life and to the joy of delighting their senses to the fullest. There is a reason we clink our Champagne glasses before the first sip. The lovely sound completes the circle of sensation we experience; seeing the bubbles dance, feeling the glass in our hands, the lovely wine filling our noses with the promise of something delicious. The same is true here at Royal Champagne. From our Michelin-starred restaurant and sumptuous spa to the spectacular views of our vine-striped hills, we are an experience that fills the senses.”

The hotel, which launched in 2018, offers guests exclusive access to private Champagne houses, as well as tasting and harvesting sessions with local wine and Champagne producers, personally curated by the in-house concierge team.

As well as being the perfect spot from which to explore the vineyards of Champagne, the 47-room hotel, which embraces a Modernist wing and a 19th-century Post House, is renowned for its fine dining, courtesy of Michelin-starred chef Jean-Denis Rieubland. Le Royal restaurant serves vegetables grown by the hotel staff, meat from local farmers and honey from hives in the grounds. Tasting menus and à la carte are available and sommelier Daniel Pires is on hand to pair the perfect wines.

And if all that self-indulgence has worn you out you can pamper yourself in the 16,000 sq ft wellness spa.

The hotel is, of course, taking all necessary safety measures to protect guests from Coronavirus. For more information, visit them here.
